Xplorie is seeking a driven and experienced Director of Activity Partnerships to be responsible for leading our Activity Supplier Program, which manages over 500 relationships with top tour, attraction, and activity suppliers in over 45 vacation destinations in the US & Canada.  This is a mission-critical position, where your decisions impact not only our clients, who include the top vacation rental management companies in the country, but also their over 1.9M guests each year, This is a true player/coach role, where you will set the strategy and lead your team, but also often get your hands dirty solving problems, closing deals, and supporting cross-functional teammates.


Responsibilities will include program strategy and execution, optimizing the supply of tours and activities within each of Xplorie’s markets, management of the Activity Partner buying team, as well as handling direct relationships with strategic accounts nationwide. Top candidates will have deep tour & activity market knowledge as you will be Xplorie’s leading expert on all Activities related business and have complete responsibility for the success of the program. You will also have expert negotiating and team leadership skills.

 

DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete ownership of all activity programs, including strategy, management of attraction buying team, and account management of strategic accounts nationwide.

·        Set national program strategy, including developing models for your team to build local destination plans.

·        Completely understand and maximize Xplorie’s unique business model, including pricing strategy and utilization forecasting.

·        Analyze market trends and ongoing performance and continue to make adjustments to deliver on the company’s goals and objectives.

MANAGEMENT:

·        Lead a small direct report team of activity buyers to achieve individual and program goals. 

·        Collaborate with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams in sales, operations, client success, technology, and executive leadership to achieve program goals and objectives.  

·        Work closely with the sales team to fulfill all customer requirements.

·        Work closely with the client success team to ensure all partners are 100% supported.

·        Build and oversee budgets for program needs.

STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:

·        Personally develop, manage and maximize Xplorie’s Key Activity Partners.

·        Build strong relationships with senior leaders at top Activity Partners.

·        Negotiate optimal contract terms to suit program needs.

·        Scout and develop new destinations.

DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS:

·        Bachelor's degree.

·        6-10 years of relevant experience, including, 4+ years managing supplier relationships and/or tour, attraction, and activity buying, and 3+ years managing a team. 

·        Deep understanding of Activity / Reseller ecosystem, including, buying cycles, current trends and challenges, and ticketing and connectivity technology and distribution strategies.  

·        Proven expertise in contract negotiation and relationship building.

·        Understanding of complex business models, pricing scenarios, data analysis, and ability to evolve and develop models.

·        Ability to forecast, budget, and set annual and monthly goals and KPI’s for the entire program.

·        Refined proposal generation and presentation skills.

·        Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).

·        Sales funnel management & CRM software skills.

·        Passion for travel and participating in fun activities.

·        Strong communicator, both written and verbal.

·        Available for substantial travel (up to 40% in the first year). The good news is you get to travel to North America’s top vacation destinations such as Destin, FL, Hilton Head, SC, Park City, UT, Pigeon Forge, TN, Maui, HI, and many more!

·        This position can be based anywhere in the US, though convenient to a major airport is desired for ease of travel.

·        Insurance – Xplorie will pay 80% of the premium cost for Employee and family, including major medical, vision and dental
