This ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM LEAD is a part-time position ideal for a candidate who has an Administrative or Executive Assistant background, preferably within the Travel Industry.

 

The position requires someone who is detail-oriented, well-spoken, well-written, well-organized and performs best under pressure.  Extra preference will be given for those with SABRE experience and those who have traveled and/or write about travel extensively.

 

This is an independent contractor (W9) position with hourly pay, no benefits. Work is weekdays (never weekends) and between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM Eastern during which you make yourself available to the agency founder/manager and his team. You will not be asked to work outside of these times.

 

You will be guaranteed a minimum of 15 paid hours a week. You may occasionally be asked to work up to 25 hours weekly, depending on how busy it gets for this full-service luxury travel agency. You also earn money with commissions paid on travel bookings YOU bring to our agency (either family, friends or your own “book of business”).

 

Note that the primary focus of this role is not travel sales nor will travel be required, but you will be virtually surrounded by our team and discussing travel 24/7!  The secondary role as a Travel Advisor will be based upon commissionable sales and your ability to build a client base; note that this is not the primary focus of this role.


The fine print: you must be incredibly detail-oriented; in our industry, an error in dates or a name mis-spelled will cause huge problems.  You also excel in client management in order to be able to deal with our high-level clientele.  Our team is young, dynamic, hard-working, and fun; all are remote and communicate mainly via Slack. You must also be a hard-worker, committed to the long-term goal, and incredibly well versed at multi-tasking and prioritization. You can take direction but also be self-sufficient when assigned tasks.  Your daily tasks include clerical duties, social media posts (Instagram), scheduling/calendar management, CRM/accounting entry/invoicing, itinerary creation, and hotel research/quote creation,  responding to and following up on emails. Experience with similar roles is required.  If your resume is considered, you may be given a written evaluation prior to proceeding with the interview process.


You will work for and report directly to the founder/manager of the company and assist him in managing the team of travel advisors. The last 2 individuals who held this role are still with the company and have moved to different responsibilities.
